HEST, Patricia Jean (nee Duggan): March 17, 1941 - April 23, 2022 Patricia Jean Hest (Duggan) passed peacefully on April 23, 2022. Pat was born March 17, 1941 in Oliver, BC to Cecil and Ruth (Ball) Duggan and grew up in the Okanagan Valley. She is survived by her husband John (Jack) Hest of nearly 60 years and her three children Julie (Ken) Thomson, Bill (Kim), Jason (Karen), and grandchildren Cole (Courtney), Riley, Brody, Jacob, Sophia, Oscar, and great-grandchild Josephine. Preceded in death by her dear sister Valerie Slater, she remained close to nieces Darla, Dianna, Debbie, Dori, nephew Garry, and their children. Pat was a devoted wife and a wonderful mother. Married to an RCMP officer, the family moved often around BC and mom always created a loving and comfortable home. Pat greeted everyone with warm, open arms and loved a good party and a good laugh. She will be remembered for the annual summer parties she hosted for friends, family and neighbours. Her smile captured everyone she met. Pat was an excellent baker and always had something on hand to share. She enjoyed summers outside tending her flowers and hummingbird feeders. Her retirement home in Okanagan Falls became a holiday destination for all the children, grandchildren and their friends who share fond memories of time spent in the pool, playing backyard games, and enjoying summer barbecues. Pat was never one to complain and although the last few years were not easy for her, she stayed strong until the very end. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at the house in Okanagan Falls on Saturday June 11 at 2:30 PM.
