Boerboom, Wilhelmus "Wim": It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wilhelmus "Wim" Boerboom on July 14, 2025, in Summerland, BC, just shy of his 85th birthday. Born on July 27, 1940, in Bemmel, Netherlands, Wim lived a full life grounded in love for his family and dedication to his work. Wim is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Paulina "Lily," and their two sons, Billy (Shauna) and Tom (Shelli). Known as "Opa" to his five grandchildren-Derek, Spencer, Zachary, Averi, and Landen; and all his extended family in Holland-Wim was a constant source of love, pride, and encouragement. Family was always at the center of Wim's world. Whether teaching life lessons to his boys, cheering from the sidelines at countless sporting events, or faithfully attending Penticton Vees games, he was always present, offering support and a warm smile. He was the Vees' number one fan, and his post-game recaps will be dearly missed. Wim's roots as a farmer ran deep. Passionate about his career and well-respected in the farming community, he earned admiration from peers across Canada and Holland. His work ethic and dedication left a lasting impact that will not be forgotten. Despite facing many years of health challenges, Wim approached life with strength, positivity, and gratitude. He is now at peace, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. MacDonald for her dedicated care, and to the staff at Summerland Seniors Village for their kindness and compassion in looking after Opa. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A service will be held at a future date to be announced. To leave condolences please visit
