Lars Myron Olsen passed away May 23, 2015 at the age of 50 years. He was born October 14, 1964 to H. Neil and Gwen Olsen in Brandon, MB. He was involved in Cubs & Boy Scouts, and started playing hockey at the age of 4. At 17, he played for the MooseJaw Canucks and on return to Olds he played for the Olds Elks. Lars loved to be active and played rugby, golf, baseball and enjoyed skiing (snow and water). He loved his community and enjoyed the many friendships he had here. Lars worked for Niemeyer's Welding and attended SAIT to obtain his apprenticeship and complete his Journeyman's Welders ticket in 1987. He became self-employed in 1991 and successfully ran his own b pressure welding business as a contractor until his passing. He leaves to mourn his children Lief, Astrid, and Tatum; parents H. Neil and Gwen Olsen; brothers Magnus(Christine) and Erik; nephew Chase and niece Erika Olsen; as well as numerous other family and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday June 3, 2015 at the First Baptist Church, Olds. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be may directly to Hockey Programs in Olds.
