WANDA DUQUETTE

Wanda Duquette passed away peacefully in Olds Alberta on October 2nd 2016 after a three
year battle with cancer at the age of 66. Wanda was predeceased by her Mother Blanche in
1994 and her Father Gordon in 1995. She is survived by her husband Ray Duquette, sons Ian
(Marcia) Duquette and Dean (Christa) Duquette, and grandchildren Deanna, Caitlin, Conner and
Jean-Luc.
In early 2013 Wanda was diagnosed with breast cancer, which she fought and remained strong
throughout her treatment Even though she was battling cancer she still found time to work in
the garden and spend time with her grandchildren. It wasn't until late in 2015 that Wanda
started to slow down and succumb to her illness. In March of 2016 Wanda was welcomed by
the Olds and District Hospice Society. She spent the last 6 months receiving the most
compassionate care, and the family wishes to convey the most sincere gratitude to all the
Hospice volunteers, Dr. Dyken and staff at Sunrise Encore and the Olds Hospital.
A memorial service was held Friday October 14th, 2016 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch
#105. Donations in memory of Wanda can be made to the Olds and District Hospice Society.
