Peter van der Pas Obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Peter van der Pas, October 4th, 2021 at the age of 58. Peter left behind his only son Hank, his daughter-in-law Julia and grandson Brandon. He was predeceased by his older brother Sebastian (John) van der Pas. The youngest of 5 children from Hendrikus & Geertruida van der Pas, Peter also leaves behind his older brother Bert and his wife Sheila van der Pas of Amaranth, his sister Louise and her husband Ron Repko of Whitby and his sister Elsie and her husband Rob Ketelings of the Netherlands. He will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews, near and far and their families. The Repko Christmas Eve celebration will never be the same. Known for his love of motorcycles and revising his beloved Jeep, Peter was most in his element working with his hands in his shop. He loved his family and friends and would never turn anyone away that needed help. May your heaven be a shop full of bikes to tinker on so you can ride forever and may you finally Rest In Peace. There will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, a donation may be made to CAMH Society or Upper Credit Humane Society.

I am so angry that I didn’t help him more. He was just such great sweet honest friend. Since we met in 2020, we always chat over the phone for hours and we always have things to keep going, besides I learned so many things about cars. Oh dear Peter God is lucky to have you there. Go and Rest In Peace. I am sorry I didn’t look more after you.
My condolences to the family. I am sorry as a friend I should have done more for him. I am speechless. Who I will call now? Besides Cindy must be missing you a lot. God protect us all.

We are so sorry to hear of Peter's passing.
Lots of nice memories! It was a pleasure to know Peter - always hardworking and cheerful, full of interesting ideas and projects, so generous in sharing his knowledge, and ready to assist at any time.
Hard to believe we lost Peter - too young, too early!
He will always be with us - in our hearts and our memories.
Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Oh my little brother
We had so many good memories growing up
You were always so busy on the street fixing all the kids bikes - you started your own little business. You saved your money and bought your first dirt bike from your older brother Bert at the age of 12 and you fell in love. Papa took you to the bike trails at HWY 27 after work every night.
Peter I cannot believe that you are gone. I miss you so. You were such an intelligent person and had a heart of gold.
Love you ❤ till we meet again.
Your sis Elsie

I am very sorry to hear of Peter's passing. I knew him and his Dad when we all worked for Rapistan

He was alway most willing to assist you if you had a problem, fix the car or whatever.

He was a hard worker, at work and after hours, easys to talk with, not always accepting advise.

I will miss him

Pete was one of the best guys I have ever known. I remember many great times at his apartment on Panorama Ct. I was there to help him bring his Yamaha 650 up into that apartment and watched him turn an old bike into something worthy. Pete's ability transcended just bikes, he would turn your life into something amazing. He could reach and warm your very soul. Very sad to hear this news. We shall miss you.

I had met Pete when were in grade 9 at Emery Collegiate. He sat behind me in Mr Milloy's math class. We hit it off right away because he was a great guy. We used to hang out together after school on Lockington court with Matt M, Tony Z, Ed C, Linda C, I'm sorry but i can't remember everyone else. I met his brother Bert and sister Elsie as well as his parents.
I met his first 'wife' Dorthy (Dotty) and his baby boy Hank a few years later.
We used to help each other all the time, - helped him get a job at Thorncrest Ford when we were 20 or so and later, he helped me get a job at Rapistan Systems (the company where his father Hank had worked) and where he was working at the time. We hadn't seen each other in years, but I was meaning to look him up and rekindle some of those fond memories.
Peter, i truly know you're in a wonderful place and we'll see each other and be friends again in the next life.

I have fond memories growing up with Pete on Lockington Court. From capture the flag, to riding around in that Torino and hearing about "modifications" to his dirtbike it was my pleasure to know you. Pete, you were one of a kind. May you rest in peace.
Sincere condolences to the entire Family.
