Delphine Stene Obituary
Delphine Mona Stene (née Dumont) - Daughter, Sister, Wife, Our Mom and Nana, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, at the age of 85 years.
Delphine was born on July 1, 1940, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, to David and Frances Dumont.
On October 14, 1961, she married Henry Stene, and together they built a life rooted in hard work, family, and love. In their early years, Delphine helped Henry run the family business, Stene's Autobody, in Rosthern, and the family grew. Later, Henry joined the RCMP, and their journey took them to Regina and eventually Prince Albert. Delphine worked in administration at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary until she was diagnosed with breast cancer initially in 1991. With remarkable strength, she survived two cancer diagnoses during her life.
Upon Henry's retirement, the couple looked forward to traveling and spent a few winters in British Columbia. Sadly, those plans were cut short when Henry was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 2005. After his passing, Delphine devoted herself wholeheartedly to her grandchildren - her greatest joy. Being a Nana was her proudest and most cherished role.
Delphine was predeceased by her parents, David and Frances Dumont; her husband, Henry Stene; her son, Parker Stene; Henry's brother, Marvin and his wife, Jo-Ann Stene.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Murray (Myla) and their children, Presley (Will) and Sloan; Tyler (Charlene) and their children, Gracie, Jarret (Laura), and Jordan; Amber (Tyler) and their children, Sienna and Avery.
She is survived by her brothers, Ted (Dona) Dumont, Des (Nellie) Dumont, Merle (Gerry) Dumont, and Lee Dumont; Henry's sister, Violet (Harry) Lamberty; and many special nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
At Nana's request, a graveside service with internment of cremated remains will be held in Spring of 2026. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of River Park Funeral Home, (306) 764-2727, Carla Jesso, Funeral Director.
