Fern Woodhouse Obituary
It is with sadness that the family of Fern Woodhouse announce her passing on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, in Kelowna British Columbia.
Fern, daughter of the late Walter John Pitchford and Eleanor Kathleen Irvine, was born December 10, 1934 on the family farm near Melfort, Saskatchewan. Fern attended school in the Melfort area then moved to Prince Albert to attend high school at PACI. She remained in Prince Albert after high school.
She met Gordon Woodhouse in 1958 and after a short courtship they married June 27, 1959. Gordon and Fern spent their first few married years in Tisdale, Saskatchewan and then returned to Prince Albert with their family in1962.
Fern was an active member of the UCW, Cosmopals, and the Royal Purple. In her youth she was very athletic and this carried forward as a fan in her adult years with a great love for the Calgary Flames and professional golf.
Fern moved to Kelowna after retiring to enjoy rounds of golf with her family, and has called Kelowna home for 21 years.
Fern will be lovingly remembered by her sons Doug (Sharon) Woodhouse of Calgary, Tim (Gwen) Woodhouse of Calgary and daughter Laurel (Randy) Lofstrom of Prince Albert; seven grandchildren Daniel, Natalie, Joel, Justine, Erick, Megan and Paris; and also three great-granddaughters Georgia, Clara and Hannah. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon, daughter Kathy, granddaughter Chloe, and all her siblings.
