With heartfelt sadness, the family of Michael T Wiegers announce his passing on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the age of 48. Michael was born June 7, 1976, in Prince Albert to Bernard and Mary (nee Laliberte) and was the youngest of five children. He attended Red Wing School, Wesmor and Carlton High School. Michael was very sports minded. He enjoyed soccer and was heavily involved in hockey; he was on skates at the age of five. He loved all things adventurous, including having all the fast toys like his boats, motorbikes, sleds and big trucks. Michael would always head straight to the water on family trips to BC and enjoyed the ferry rides to Vancouver Island. He loved spending time at family campouts, having campfires and had cabins at Emma and Candle Lake. Michael loved being with people. He had an infectious smile matched with a keen sense of style and fashion in clothes, shoes, watches and chains. He loved to dance to high energy techno beats, liked to have fun and lit up every room; making him someone that people loved to be around. He was a third generation carpenter, growing up helping his dad on builds, framing, insulating, and building deck. He just helped his dad build his shop and was renovating and helping dad build the family home. He also enjoyed experimenting with woodworking including making giant toy boxes for his nieces, coffee tables and shelves. This love of carpentry extended to the other family trade, scaffolding. Michael was a Journeyman scaffolder and supervised many scaffolding projects throughout his career. He loved his nieces and nephews, spending time with them and spoiling them, and they all thought he was so cool. He became a father with the arrival of Marek in 2006 and he wanted to share everything with him; all the good things of his life with him. Michael was loved and will leave us all with so many memories and stories. Wake Service will commence at 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Metis Center, 69 South Industrial Drive, Prince Albert.
