Peter Paskaruk

Peter Paskaruk, beloved husband of 67 years to Pauline Paskaruk, passed away on his birthday at Oliver Lodge Special Care Home in Saskatoon SK on March 22, 2022 at the age of 96 years. He is the cherished father of Debra (Orman) Sibbald of Saskatoon SK and Richard (Rosalie) Paskaruk of Winfield BC. He will be dearly missed by his sister, Helen (Ernie) Pidwerbeski of Kelowna BC; his grandchildren: Kerry Stacey of Saskatoon, Regan (Mike) Weiman of Warman SK, and Kylen Paskaruk of Winfield BC; his great-grandchild Cole Stacey (Alycia Timm) of Taber AB; and his great-great-grandchildren, Abbey and Jack Stacey. He was predeceased by his father Nicolai "Nick" Paskaruk and his mother Elena Paskaruk (nee Zyha) of Prince Albert SK; his brothers: Fred (Mary) Paskaruk of Prince Albert SK, Bill (Mary) Paskaruk of Prince Albert SK, George (Peggy) Paskaruk of Surrey BC, Mike (Helen) Paskaruk of Abbotsford BC, and Jim (Helen) Paskaruk of Meath Park SK; his sisters: Mary Paskaruk, Sally (Mike) Krywiak of Langley BC, and Elsie (John) Palibroda of Grand Forks BC. Peter was born in Samburg SK and grew up on the Kalyna family farm. He was a welder with Leach Manufacturing in Prince Albert, and farmed (mixed and grain) the Paskaruk family homestead along with his wife. Peter and his family attended the Orthodox Church in Samburg, and he and his wife (along with other congregants) were involved in the choir and in the care of the church and grounds. He enjoyed family gatherings, travelling, playing baseball in his younger years, golfing, league bowling, and playing cards. He loved the smell of freshly turned soil in preparation for annual seeding. The Memorial Service for Peter will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank: the staff of Oliver Lodge and Dr. Teofilov for their special care in Peter's last months, Lydena and staff at JCL Personal Care Home in Saskatoon for Peter & Pauline's care at their second-last home, and for their care by long time physician Dr. Werner Gericke.
