MacCHARLES, Barbara Beatrice (nee Bates) It is with sadness that her family announces the peaceful passing of Barbara on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Toronto, Ontario. Predeceased in 2004 by her beloved husband, and best friend, William. Barbara missed her Bill dearly but was comforted by all the wonderful memories she had of their time together. Daughter of Jack and Daisy Bates, sister to Mervyn Bates (Wilma) and beloved aunt to Wayne Bates (Suzie) and Don Bates (Marie) and their families. Barbara will be remembered best as a quick witted, accomplished and independent woman. She had an avid interest in genealogy and her family thanks her for the detailed family trees that she has left them with. Her keen sense of humor, and positive outlook, remained intact, even through her latter days of illness and decline, a testament to her faith and resilience.
