It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Kimberly Ann Warnica née Radford on Tuesday, 15 November, 2022. Kimberly fought a long battle with cancer but was surrounded by family throughout her ordeals. Loving mother of James Ryan Burt (Catia) of Toronto and Claire Burt (Rob) of Parry Sound, beloved sister of Sharron McMillan (Gary) and Sandra Quick (Brian) of Dorchester, and aunt to Nadean, Todd, Lindsay, Everett (deceased), Marva Jean, and their families. Predeceased by proud parents James Darwin Radford and Constance May née Limebeer.
Originally from Guelph, Kim graduated from the Wellesley School of Nursing in Toronto in 1973 and was immediately accepted on staff at Princess Margaret Hospital. Kim will be remembered for her great sense of humour, love of horses and gardening, superior cooking skills, and her years of being a dedicated nurse in the Grey-Bruce, Durham, Metropolitan Toronto, and Parry Sound-Muskoka regions. Kim enjoyed traveling, reading about history, spending time with her pets, and visiting both extended family across Canada and equestrian friends in Kentucky.
Kim's family wishes to thank the team at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, including Nadine, Alison, Jess, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Kelly, Melissa, Mollie, Willem, Danielle, Naz, and Karen, who all assisted with her bedside needs. As well, special thanks to Dr. Gibson, Dr. Anderson, Dr. Witt, and Dr. Honsinger for their medical support. Extra special thanks to Kenzie, St. John's Ambulance therapy dog, for being there when Kim's beloved pets could not be.
Further announcements of Kim's celebration of life will be forthcoming. Donations to the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary and the Dr. Natasha Leighl Research Fund at Princess Margret Cancer Foundation in Kim's memory would be greatly appreciated. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Torrance Funeral Home & Chapel (89 Bowes Street, Parry Sound, ON)
