Terry Jacklin Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce that Terry Jacklin passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2023 at his home in Owen Sound Ontario. Terry was 64 and had been ill for the past few years. Terry's parents, Don and Karen Jacklin of Parry Sound and Lavona (Tiny) and Randall Sheppard of North Bay, are grieving the loss of their son.
Terry was born on December 20, 1958 in the town of Parry Sound. He lived his active young life on James Bay Junction Road and in Sudbury Ontario with his siblings Daniel, Jamie, Chad, Trina and Daren. Terry was also blessed to have his siblings from the Sheppard family including Brenda, Gail (late), Roberta, Ruby, Jack and Tammy. In his younger years, Terry forged a special bond with the Badger family and we are all grateful for their friendship and love over the years.
Terry was an attentive and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He always enjoyed the times at the camp in Espanola when the entire family would show up for a fun time. Terry would joke with the kids, play pranks on his family at every chance he got and he loved being on the water in his "Week End at Burnie's" boat. What a sight he was - pure joy!
As a business owner, Terry kept busy as a general contractor. He was a hard-working man and had a love for tools. Home Depot was his go to place for the next best tool to add to his collection. He lived with his friend Patsy where they shared a home in Own Sound for the past several years. He will be missed by Patsy and all who knew him in Own Sound.
Terry was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had a wonderful sense of humour and a strong love of animals (love his cat Barnabas). He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences.
He will be missed dearly.
To honour Terry, his family invites you to join them for a moment of friendship and reflection at the Foley Community Centre 60 Rankin Lake Rd Seguin Ontario P2A 0B2 on Sunday June 18th from 12:00 to 2:00. A light lunch will be served.
