ROELENS - Anthony (Tony) Oscar Roelens, husband, father, grandfather, avid hunter and wildlife/waterfowl enthusiast, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the age of 68. Tony was born in Leamington, Ontario, on August 30, 1955. He fell in love with a girl named Janet, marrying on July 19, 1975, and shortly thereafter, headed west for grand adventures. Tony found employment working as a logger, and fell in love with the bush. He never left. Tony had a saw and small engine repair business in Endeavour. He also did custom garden tilling . Tony found great joy in hunting and made a second career working as a guide for several waterfowl outfitters throughout his life. In his younger years, Tony served on the Endeavour Town Council, coached elementary school basketball, played slow-pitch, curled, was a 4-H group leader in wildlife habitat, and was a member of the Endeavour Wildlife Club (big supporter of signing up farm land for habitat) as well as the Endeavour Lions Club. Tony had a passion for plants and enjoyed gardening, as well as sharing tall tales over beers in the garage and going fishing with friends and family alike. He was also a member of the Preeceville Wildlife Club. Tony will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Janet; oldest son, Cory and wife Laura; daughter, Amy and husband Chad; youngest son, Justin; and grandchildren, Rachel and Shayla. He will also be greatly missed by his siblings, Linda (Garry), Janine (Gord), Ted, Debbie (Tom), Kathy (John), Tom (Janet), Todd (Christine) and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is predeceased by his parents, Alphonse and Carol Roelens; brother, Tim and nephew Jaques. A Celebration of Tony's Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, his family kindly requests memorial donations be made to the Preeceville Wildlife Federation (Box 711, Preeceville, SK, S0A 3B0) as gifts of remembrance. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preeceville Funeral Home.
