Alexander Aitken Obituary

AITKEN, ALEXANDER August 9, 1934 - Rochfort Bridge, AB January 3, 2016 - Prince George, BC It is with sadness we announce the passing of Alex at PG Hospice House after a stay of several weeks battling cancer, diabetes, and parkinsons disease all at the same time. The staff at hospice were very impressed with his strength and resilience throughout but he finally succumbed suddenly this past Sunday. He will be greatly missed by his family and extended family. He was recognized by all who knew him as a very good man who always put his love of family first. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Aitken and sons Dan Aitken (Heather), Richard Aitken (Tracy), and daughter Sandy Aitken (Ron). Also survived by 6 grandchildren (Mike, Lindsay, Nate, Ashley, Derrek, Riane) and 4 great grandchildren (Brooklynn, Haylee, Bryson, Nico). By his own wishes he will be cremated and no service will be held. At a later date a family celebration of life will be held at one of his favourite outdoor locales. He loved his fishing and hunting with a passion and the family will recognize this together in respect to him. Rest in peace, we send our love and will see you again. Your family.

What can I say about Uncle Alex that hasn't been said. He was the most genuine man I ever knew. Sincere, loving, caring. Although I didn't get to see him much over the years, when I did, I felt so at home it was like we saw each other all the time. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

Just a calm steady quiet man, who didn't seem to get too upset about anything. Alex always seemed to be content with who he was. Need more people like him in this world.
