Carolyn Lamb Obituary

Carol Lamb (Wylie) died peacefully on November 26, 2024 after many years of living with Parkinson's.
Carol was predeceased by her parents and her daughter Samantha.

Carol is survived by her husband Allan, her son Eric (wife Kirsten and children Aurora and Ivy), her
daughter Heather, and Samantha's children Haley (partner Tyler and daughter Eloise), and Eric, as well as her four siblings and many other family members. Carol had an adventurous spirit and introduced many people to her favourite outdoor activities of hiking, skiing, canoeing, and camping over the years.

She traveled a lot and was always eager to visit her kids wherever they happened to be living. We all have homemade knitted blankets, cross stitch pictures, and crocheted items to help us remember Carol and her love of handicrafts. She was a master scrabble and crib player and consistently beat all of us. She brought us up on homemade food, garden produce, and love. As adults, we couldn't leave her house without taking home excellent leftovers, fruitcake, and other treats. She always cooked and baked when she visited family, leaving freezers full.

We all benefited from her professional nursing skills at various times, as did her many patients over the years. Carol responded to her Parkinson's diagnosis by hiking, skiing, and traveling more vigorously than ever. She fought hard to remain active as long as she could and enjoyed socializing with her many friends. Her last years were not easy but she remained cheerful and pragmatic about her situation and continued to enjoy visits from family and friends up until the end.

We would like to extend our thanks to the staff at Simon Fraser Lodge and Dr. Pettersen for their care.
Special thanks to Carol's closest friend Rosemary for always being there for her and for us.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Parkinson's Society of British Columbia or a good cause of your choice would be appreciated.

I always enjoyed Carol´s joy and strength on the many years I was with her in our walking group. I know she was suffering already with her Parkinson´s but the walking kept her going amid her positive spirit. Kind condolences and prayers to the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Carol's passing. We enjoyed sharing an apartment together in my early days in Prince George. I haven't seen Al for a while and I occasionally bump into Heather. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time. Best wishes.

My condolences to Allan, Eric and Heather. Carols zest for an active and engaging life is seared into the hearts of all who knew her. I feel blessed to have met her while teaching at Pineview School many years ago.

I am so sorry to hear of Carol´s passing. Sincere condolences to you,Allan,Eric, and Heather and the rest of Carol´s family and friends.
I met Carol when we were both working at PGRH and remained friends after we both got married and our children arrived. She was a determined lady when dealing with her Parkinson´s disease.
Although it has been some time since I have seen Carol, I have thought of her many times and wondered how she was doing.
Rest in peace Carol

Dear Heather, Allan and Eric, I am so sad to hear about your mom/wife passing. Sending warm hugs to you all. I have such fond memories from my childhood playing at your home. Your mom laughing with us when we made pepper soup, always encouraging our creativity, making the most amazing soup and bread and jelly, letting us take risks (though maybe she didn´t know about the slide down the stairs?), taking us on outdoor adventures (my first canoeing trip!) calling us (me) on bad behavior (not to be repeated), and always offering a warm, loving, welcoming place to be. This must be such a hard time for you and I´m so sorry for your loss, and so happy you had your mom/wife in your lives. With love, Megan

Carol was a great friend! When we lived up there she was always ready to go outside to play or take an adventure! Through Girl Guides we spent a lot of time together and I always appreciated her kindness and great stimulus to "get outside!" She will always be in my heart as a very true and amazing friend.
