My favorite poem...The Dash by Linda Ellis speaks about the importance of the dash between the year you are born and the day you die and how the two years by themselves are unimportant. What is important is how you spend the "dash" between the years. Dan spent his "dash" doing what he enjoyed and I believe he was happy with the way he spent his time on earth. He will be greatly missed by myself and my family. He was a great friend and Doctor.

Dan my dear brother in law will be missed by many here in Toronto. He and Dianne welcomed me into the family with open arms. The first year I met his brother Eric in 1992 we went to visit them for New Years in Illinois. He had such an intensity to him,you could talk to him about anything. Eric became very ill with cancer in 2007 and Dan came for a visit in August 2008 with Dianne..Dan helped with many massages and adjustments as Eric was suffering from back pain.Mostly he and Dianne helped with their companionship.I feel helpless as we were not there for Dianne .Eric passed away in February of this year.I am sure if there is a heaven Eric and Dan are on a golf course where all the drives go straight and the 19th hole has fine cognac.
