E. Grant Obituary

E. Lorraine Grant would like to let you all know that her mission here on this Earth is complete. She received a call for an appointment on August 31st, 2022, from which she will not be returning. Her new mission comes with some spectacular perks - reunion with family and friends she has not seen for many years. This mission allows Lorraine to golf, quilt and sew, bike ride, zip line with the gang and watch submarines with that special someone. In this amazing place, Lorraine can eat sushi all day, every day, while reading her favorite book or learning something new. While the gang is ecstatic that Lorraine has joined them, Lorraine leaves family and friends here to carry on her legacy with heavy hearts until they are reunited once again.

We want Lorraine to know that her hard work, boundless energy, and quiet and patient demeanour did not go unnoticed by all who knew her. Lorraine's kindness, caring, and love for her family and friends made a huge difference in many lives. Her endless volunteerism also made an impact on her community. "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." - Mahatma Gandhi. Lorraine fulfilled her mission with grace, compassion, and an unselfish style.

Lorraine was predeceased by the love of her life of 56 years, Garry Grant, and her son, Michael Grant. Lorraine is survived by her children, Trudy (Dennis), Tracey (Kevin), and Terri (Todd); the joy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kristin (Johnathon), Zach (Cheyanne), Auston (Aaron and little Kaisley), Sydney, Lauren, Cory and Lyndsay. Lorraine had many family members and close friends that made an impact on her life, for which she was forever grateful.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Lorraine on Saturday, September 24th, at 1:30 pm at the Prince George Playhouse - 2626 Recplace Drive. In lieu of flowers, Lorraine was offering the idea to have donations made to the Prince George Community Foundation in "tribute to Lorraine Grant."

I was so sad to hear that this wonderful woman has left us. I enjoyed her gentle, knowledgeable guidance as our Regional Field officer for Elections BC. She had a quiet sense of humor to go with her beautiful smile. I feel honored to have known her. Rest well, Lorraine.

We were sorry to learn about the death of Lorraine Grant. She generously and unselfishly, for many years, volunteered and served the community in many different aspects. She always did so in a professional, thoughtful and kind manner. Her long and devoted services in health care were significant and occurred during challenging times. She should not be forgotten.

So sorry to read of Lorraine´s passing. She, Lila Pearson Foley and I shared many fun times while attending PGSS. This photo was taken at my parent´s house just before Garry and Lorraine were engaged.

Our condolences go out to Lorraine's family. We first met Lorraine in the 1980's. Little did we know the impact she would have on our family. She and Garry were always supportive of our family. She worked at Pemberton Securities when we first met. Overtime her work ethic, sense of compliance, and Lorraine's volunteering her time for the community were truly outstanding. We will miss her calming voice and smile.

The world has lost an amazing person! I, like many others was hopefull of a different outcome. I volunteered with the CCS and spent time with Lorraine (and Gary) as well I work with and am friends with Trudy, Dennis and family! We have enjoyed so many fun lunches, Birthday parties and events together. Lorraine's sense of humour and quick wit was unequalled and she always made me laugh. I will cherish my memories of the times we spent and the fun we had. Lorraine was one of the most honest and ethical women I have ever met and I knew I could count on her sage advice! But more importantly I knew she loved me and she knew I loved her! She will be missed. My sincere condolences to all she loved and all who loved her!

Over the years of your volunteering and welcoming exchange students from Japan to Prince George we met along with many other activities including working Elections Canada. I saw in you a calm woman who struggled like all of us with life's challenges including the loss of her Sweet husband Gary who managed an condo building my Mother lived in. Your wit was wicked - I so loved that about you. My last memory was eating ice cream with you and your granddaughter at your home with Yentl your gentle Golden Doodle and my daughter who looked up to you as a young woman entering the workforce. You made a place for all, welcomed all from far and away and made us all feel appreciated. You have left us now to be welcomed by those who you love and one day we will all be able to gather again for fellowship and laughter.Rest in sweet peace Lorraine. You made a difference in so so many lives. Yes you are missed but I carry those memories of you with me and leave me smiling .

It was a privilege to have known Lorraine. She was a mentor in my first days on the Community Foundation Board and a friend ever since. I know you are at peace Lorraine. I can see your smile as you embraced your Gary once again. I will miss you. I will miss knowing you are here walking this earth but I am happy knowing you will be looking out for us all from above in your quiet, thoughtful, and loving way.
