Ethan Blacker Obituary

ETHAN NICHOLAS BLACKER 1998 - 2009 It is with great sadness that the family of Ethan Nicholas Blacker mourn his sudden passing on August 16, 2009. His kindness and joy will be sadly missed by his parents Nick & Cathy (Roe), sister Rylei and Grammy Sal Roe. Ethan was a boy whose exuberance for life was felt by all that were blessed to meet him. If he didn't know you he would greet you and say "Hi! I'm Ethan!" He was involved in everything you could throw at him - track and field, the chess club, class productions. He loved the outdoors, hunting, 4-wheeling, fishing, horseback riding, snowmobiling. He loved all animals and had a gentle way with them. He loved both ice and roller hockey, and was very excited about going to the hockey program at the middle school this fall. He loved to play video games and his imagination created many wonderful games to play with his friends. Ethan loved to write comic books, read, and would retell a movie or book word for word. If you could give him an ear he would tell you in great detail all the wonderful things his imagination could create. Ethan loved to be with his family and friends. His loss is also deeply felt by his Uncles Dennis, Michael, Ron (Michelle), Jonathan (Brenda) and Auntie Michelle (Curtis). Ethan is also grieved by his large extended family including many loving cousins and friends. Ethan is predeceased by grandparents Leo Roe and David & Gill Blacker. A viewing will be held at Prince George Funeral Service, 1014 Douglas St, Saturday, August 22, 2009 10:30am - 11:30am followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00pm from First Baptist Church, 483 Gillett. Tea to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the PGMHA, in Ethan's name to sponsor a child, Box 2242, Prince George, BC, V2M 2J8, or to the SPCA.

I remember my first day of kindergarten and the first time I met him, I saw him playing on the playground with so much energy and i saw that he had no worries about being in such a new world. I instantly hated him for having so much fun in a place that was so scary to me. The next day I was playing some game that we were making up on the go.It was then that Ethan became best my friend throughout all of elementary school. I remember always going to his house and basically doing everything from playing the games that he made up like Green Fire Fist to playing in the mud and finding all sorts of creatures to riding our bikes. I can remember how we would get into fights and start hating each other over all sorts of different things just like best friends often do but every time we would make up and he would always say "You know I can't stay mad at you" Even now, just over five years later I still feel my heart leap whenever I see something or hear a song that reminds me of him. You've been my best friend for ten years and you always will be. Love you Ethan

Ethan was such a unique boy. very scholastic, he deffinately loved to read but at the same time he loved everything else life had to offer. Hockey, video games, hunting, fishing, quading..but what ethan cherished the most was his friends and family. I always enjoyed being around him whether it was babysitting or fishing or family vacations. He always kept everyone entertained. Ethan you touched my heart as you will forever. You will never be forgotten. Thoughts and prayers to you Auntie Cathy, Uncle N and Rylei..love you all xoxo

I pray that all the wonderful memories you have of Ethan will give you strength. The love of your family and friends will be with you alway. Also the love of a happy and beautiful boy.

Cathy, I didn't know Ethan very well, but Devinne always thought alot of him, and I was always regalled with tales of Ethan and his friends bugging the girls at school to get a rise out of them.
You, my friend, I have known for quite a number of years, and my heart hurts for you. The only thing I can say is that even though Ethan is with the angels, the memories will keep him in your hearts forever. My dad has been gone 20 years, and still I smile when I remember things about him.
Cathy, Nick, and the entire family- from me and my family, know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

September 25, 2009

Also a minor hockey parent, I will always remember seeing Nick and Cathy at the rink with a smile on their face. You knew in your heart that they were so proud to be their watching their son and that they wouldn't miss it for anything. Since hearing about Ethan there hasn't been a day that's gone by that I haven't prayed for your family to have the strength that you will need. You will always be in our thoughts and I will continue to pray for the both of you and your daughter.

Ethan was an impressionable boy.

He always had a story to tell, whether it was about his characters he wrote about, roller hockey, salmon fishing or how he scored a goal in ice hockey.
Ethan was grateful for everything he had...most of all his family & friends.
He always said "thank you"...most times without being prompted by his parents. He loved his sister, Ethan included Rylei in everything he did. True character of Ethan.

We have many memories of Ethan we will cherish forever and always.

We miss him dearly.

Cathy, Nick, Ethan & Rylei are in our thoughts and prayers everyday!

We love you!!

I'll never forget when Ethan didn't want relish on his hot dog.. he made sure everyone new it!! Uncle Nick wasn't too happy but he was the first one to forgive him. Ethan was a great cousin, always so happy to his older cousins.. excited everytime i was there to watch him. Being away i didn't get to see Ethan on the ice, but if he was as good on skates as he was on roller blades he woulda been a great little player. Ethan was always full of energy and was never without a smile :) your missed everyday buddy..
love you lots Auntie Kathy, Uncle Nick and Rylei.. see you all soon

Ethan was the best cousin anyone could ever ask for. He was loving, caring and always helping! I always enjoyed going over and babysitting him and Rylei. He would be such a great help, and always playing his Xbox, or on the computer. Every night before he went to bed, he made sure he always read his book! :)Fishing every year at the Skeena River was always a blast, we had so much fun. Whether it was catching dollies or just running around, not caring about a thing. All the good memories will always be with me. We will miss you Ethan. I love you Uncle Nick, Aunite Cathy and Rylei!
