Friedrich Muntau Obituary

MUNTAU , Friedrich (Fred) passed away December 22, 2018 at his home in Prince George, BC. Fred was born in Dresden, Germany on May 10, 1940 and came to Canada in 1962. Fred is predeceased by his parents Friedrich and Elisabeth as well as his sister Brigitte and his wife Monika. Fred is survived by his son Friedrich (Shelley) and their children Hannah & Julien; his daughter Michelle (Stuart) Lee and their children James, Jonah & Emersyn. Fred is also survived by his nieces in Germany, Elke (Thorwald) and Birgit (Janny) and his cousin Sigrid. As a resident of Prince George for nearly 50 years, he was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hunting, fishing as well as gardening and leaves behind a close community of relatives, friends, coworkers and his precious (and spoiled) cats Charlie & Georgie. A celebration of a life lived will be held at 7 p.m., January 24, 2019 at the PG Elks Community Hall, 663 Douglas Street. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dad's friends Randy & Dennis and his neighbour Dave for their care and assistance in the recent months. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Fred's name to the Kidney Foundation.
