George Kellett Obituary

George Stanley Kellett, long time resident of Prince George and area, died on Sunday, September 4, 2022 age 77 years at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend. Stan will be deeply missed by his children Susannah (Dave), Michael (Leslie) and Ian (Kristin), as well as his grandchildren Edmund, Sam, Walter and Elmer and his step grandchildren McKenzie, Emily and Sydney. It was Stan's wish that there be no funeral, but a private gathering will be held in the spring for friends and family. We would like to extend appreciation on his behalf to the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia Internal Medicine and Primary Care Medical Units. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Prince George Hospice Society. In addition, he would have liked you to listen to "Four Strong Winds" by Ian and Sylvia while enjoying your favourite drink.

Stan was a good man. He was prominent in my life for four years. Working together, he hired me to be his office manager and paralegal. It was bit of a learning curve for us both. But, within a few months a strong and supportive bond of trust and friendship had established. I treasure my time with Stan. I shall miss him.

Deepest sympathies to the Kellett families. Stan's dad would always put a rink in the side yard and we would have many hockey games there. Stan was a Leafs fan so he would be Teder Kennedy (leafs captain) & I would be Gordie Howe (red wings) When the ice would give out we would play road hockey with a soft ball. It was so much fun. Rest in peace Stan. John (Jay) Hunter

Sorry to read the news. I knew Stan from Grade 1-12. Our friendship was mostly playing sports together, especially hockey. He was both a talented athlete and student. Sadly, the only time I have seen him since the was 1982 PGSSS reunion.

Mike, Susannah, and Ian,
We're so sorry for your loss. We will definitely be listening to "Four Strong Winds" and enjoying a cold beer while remembering Stan! I can picture him now with Carolyn, walking through a beautiful garden, beer in hand, music in the air :)
Love
