Geraldine (Gerry) L McLean
1939-2022
Geraldine (Gerry) L McLean, nee Ollinger, age 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at the Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society. She was born July 7, 1939 in Vancouver, BC to Ferdinand and Beatrice Ollinger. She moved to Prince George when she was about 11 years old. Growing up she was an accomplished cheerleader and a reputable Girl Guide. She married Warren E McLean on July 11,1959 in Prince George. Gerry worked as a librarian at Austin Road Elementary, a secretary at Wildwood Elementary and Springwood Elementary and finally as an executive secretary at Wildwood Elementary School. She volunteered for many school activities, as a fire dispatch for the Nechako Fire Department, International Order of Jobs Daughters, the Spirit of the North Health Care thrift shop and Spirit of the North Festival of Trees. She was an avid figure skater, bowler, swimmer and curler. Gerry truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; her favourite music Andrea Bocelli, camping, card nights, cruises , train rides and that one time she got on an airplane and really just enjoying her family.
She is predeceased by her husband Warren; parents Ferdinand and Beatrice; brother Fernie the 2nd, sister Marilyn and grandson Corey.
She is survived by her Aunt Bertha; two brothers John (Neila) and Garry (Rose) ; children Dean, Marty (Penny), Karla (Rob); grandchildren Courtney (Jamin), Alyssa (Lee Wai) and Jessica (Adam); her 7 great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family, friends and others whose lives Gerry has touched, are invited to the Saint Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in Prince George, BC on October 11 , 2022 at 11:00 am, followed by ceremony at the Prince George Cemetery. Refreshments to follow to reminisce and celebrate the beautiful life of Geraldine McLean.
