Ingrid was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon but was raised in Prince George, BC. Ingrid attended Blackburn and PGSS schools graduating in 1990. She was a loyal supporter of her community and could be found planning and encouraging all to participate in events such as the annual Pineview Snow Frolics.
She sang in Bel Canto Children's choir for many years and travelled to various places throughout Canada and the United States. Ingrid loved her singing and was passionate about her music and could be found singing and directing choirs, and playing her saxaphone with local bands.
Prince George residents will remember Ingrid for her storytelling skills. She was the children's programmer at the Prince George Library for many years and had a big fan following. She would dress up, sing and involve the crowd in her stories, which were for the young and old. She held prominent positions in the community as an early childhood educator and as a local chapter member of the Early Childhood Educators of BC. She continued on to work for community based programs, Childcare Resource Referral and Strong Start BC.
Ingrid lived and worked and spread community spirit in Prince George, Quesnel, and finally Smithers. She has left Northern BC with a legacy of laughter music, storytelling and educating children and strong community involvement and support. She always had a smile and took time to chat with just about anyone. Ingrid touched many lives in the North and we will always be grateful for who she was and what she gave us.
Ingrid leaves to mourn her mother Linda; sister Kaareen (Dino, Matteo, Ava, Lola); niece Macy, nephews Merric and Maxim (Richard); Her partner Sean (Jesse, Alyssa) her dogs Hank and Dak and many, many friends who were family to her. She is predeceased by her father, Jan-Udo Wenzel and her sister, Kerstin McFadyen. She will be greatly missed.

I can still hear Ingrid, as she walked into my house and say,’ hi Mama Mcneill! ‘ She was a charmer and so talented. Ingrid made us all laugh and all of our memories of her are good and full of joy. I can hear that saxophone blasting from heaven now! Love you sweetheart.

I feel so honoured to have known Ingrid and to have played soccer with her for so many years. She was such a great person. I sat down and ugly cried when I heard of her passing. The heavens got a good one. Much love to you and your Mom Kaareen
