Martin Andersen Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Martin Andersen announces his passing on December 25, 2016. Martin passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

Martin was born August 22, 1928, in Ribe, Denmark, the fourth of seven children to Jakob and Selma. Martin was predeceased by his daughter Hanne, and Sigge, his wife of 60 years. He is survived by his daughters: Linda (Don) Eisbrenner, Connie (Brian) Berg, and Karin (Crawford) Young. Grandchildren: Paul, Cheryl (Tyler), Brianne, Jenna (Ward), Ryan, Spencer, Cassandra, Wesley, Micaela, and Braeden. Great Grandchildren: Hanna, Kieran, Taeman, Dillon, and numerous other relatives and good friends.

Martin moved to Canada from Denmark when he was 20 years old. He met and married Sigge and welcomed their 4 daughters to the world while in Calgary. The family moved to Prince George in 1966.

Martin will be remembered by many people in the local house construction industry and by patrons and friends from the Nechako Bowling Alley.

The family would like to give thanks to his caregivers for their support and devoted care, as well as the Canadian Red Cross and the Prince George Hospice Society.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Prince George Hospice Society or Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated.

I will always remember Martin's smile and the way he would say "Hello there, Sweetheart" whenever I would see him. I will remember smarties given to first me, and then to my son at the bowling alley, and I will remember everything that he did for me and my family over the years. Martin was such a special man who touched so many lives. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
