Nada Sidorov Obituary

Nada Gropuzzo Sidorov Born October 26, 1923, Nada Sidorov died peacefully at home on April 9, 2015. Nada was educated as a Chemical Engineer at the University of Zagreb in Croatia, and went on to become the youngest woman ever to be placed in charge of a chemical laboratory in Europe. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Joseph Sidorov, with whom she came to Canada as a refugee following the Second World War. They settled in Halifax, where they raised their family for many years before moving to Prince George. Here, Dr. Sidorov took on new challenges in his medical practice and encouraged the establishment of medical education at UNBC. Having set aside her own career to support that of her husband, Nada retained an extraordinarily active mind and a broad spectrum of interests, and was well known in Prince George society. Left to mourn are her son Alan Sidorov, daughter Dr. Jane (Yana) Sidorov, and granddaughter Tina Sidorov. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia.
