1924 - 2012

WILLIAM (BILL) LORNE RUSH June 10, 1924 - June 19, 2012 Our father, Bill, passed away peacefully in his 89th year on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Jubilee Lodge in Prince George BC. He is now in heaven with his greatly missed wife, Lois, who predeceased him in May 2007. Married for 56 years, father to Sandy (Cy) of White Rock, BC; Douglas of Vancouver, BC; Kenneth (Theresa) of Ottawa, ON; and Annie (John) of Ottawa, ON. Treasured grandfather to Stephen (Cheryl) Tordiffe of Surrey, BC; Rose Elizabeth (Greg) Scholtens of Surrey, BC; Amber Schwarz and James Schwarz of Ottawa, ON; and Alexandra Rush and William Rush of Ottawa, ON. Great grandfather to Evan Tordiffe, Anderson Tordiffe and Carson Tordiffe of Surrey, BC. Dad, we are all very proud of your lifetime achievements: from your wartime service, to your business accomplishments as the founder of Rush Wholesale, to your dedication as a teacher to adults returning to finish their high-school education, to your community service with Meals on Wheels. But most importantly, you led your family by example with uncompromising integrity, wisdom, loyalty, humour, love, and a zest for life. We will miss you. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bill's life will be held at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 1500 Edmonton St, Prince George, BC at 2:30 pm on Saturday, August 11, 2012. Reception to follow in the church hall. The family would like to thank Dr Pierre Ducharme and Dr Dan York for their many years of attending to Bill and his health concerns; as well our deepest gratitude and appreciation to all of the staff at Jubilee Lodge. Our thankfulness for the tender love and care that was extended to Bill during the last month of his life cannot be expressed.
