Clark Taylor Obituary

Clark Kaye Taylor
May 22, 1946 - April 5, 2023

Clark was born in Princeton, B,C and grew up in the Similkameen Valley. He left the Okanagan at 18 and travelled around BC, working and exploring.

He fell in love with the ocean and settled in Powell River in 1968. He purchased acreage south of town and lived a modest life on his homestead, where he passed away suddenly.

Clark was predeceased by his parents Paul and Bernice and his brothers Trett and Paul. He is survived by his sisters Teresa and Cecilia and his daughter Brooke, son-in-law Andrew and granddaughters Talia and Anika, his extended family, and many friends and acquaintances he had along the way.

Clark enjoyed a quiet life, sipping coffee with a rolled cigarette, watching the birds and clouds, tending to his homestead, and listening to the radio, which he did until his last day with us. We will miss him: his quirky sense of humour, and his appreciation for the very simple pleasures in life. Clark lived his life on his own terms, something that most do not have the courage to do.

There will not be a formal service for Clark, but if you would like to honour his memory, you can donate to The Sea Shepherd Society, Greenpeace, or the World Wildlife Fund. Or simply take a stroll on the beach, stop and admire the clouds, listen to the birds, and slow down, as life is fleeting.
