Remembering Dave Brown August 4, 1952 - January 15, 2019 On Tuesday, January 15, at 3:30 pm in the afternoon, Dave passed away quietly with his family by his side. Dave was born and raised in Powell River and although he did do some travelling throughout his life, he never considered leaving Powell River for the great unknown. Dave was a man who could be counted on to stop whatever he was working on to help someone else, be they family, friends or some stranger by the side of the road who needed a hand. Dave was above all else an honest man, some would say almost to a fault, and he had no problem telling you what he thought whether you wanted to hear it or not. He was also a joker at heart and many a time would bring a party or gathering to life by his outgoing personality and quick wit. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, but most of all he loved working on his truck or van of the day, and he had many of them at any given time over the past 40-plus years. Dave leaves behind his wife of 41-plus years Pearl; his son Zachary (daughter-in-law Vanessa) and grandchildren Jordan and Evie; and his daughter Kalin (son-in-law Mike). Dave also leaves behind his sisters Iris and Trudy (brother-in-law Dave), brothers Robert (sister-in-law Cynthia), Norman and Kenny. There are also numerous nieces and nephews who will also miss him, fondly known to them as (uncle Diggles). We would like to thank all our family, friends and hospital staff for their kind support in our time of need. The list is far too long to mention everyone but know that you are all remembered. There will be a celebration of life for Dave in early March. We will let everyone know the time and place when plans have been finalized. We only get one chance at life so, "Live well, smile often and love like there is no tomorrow."
