Karin NAP Obituary

Nap, Cornelia Catharina (Karin)
May 23, 1935 - September 26, 2023

Karin was born Cornelia Catharina van Dijkhuizen in The Hague, Holland. After attending the Royal Conservatory in The Hague she became an opera singer and had a successful career in Europe for many years. In 1980 she embarked on a completely new life after emigrating to Canada. The early years saw her and her new husband Gerald living in the Squamish area, subsequently relocating to the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. After Gerald's death she relocated once again, this time to Powell River, where she lived until her death. Karin is predeceased by her siblings Jan, Nico, Koos, and Tineke, as well as her former husband Gerald Nap. She is survived by her siblings Emmy, Aad and Willem in Holland, as well as many nieces, nephews and other family. Karin will be remembered for her love for the Lord, music, books, and her cats. She will be missed by friends on the mainland and the island.
Our deepest appreciation goes to the staff of Evergreen Extended Care in Powell River, where she had resided for the past two years. Also many thanks to community care staff who looked after Karin in her home. Special thanks to her friends Martha and Leslie who helped Karin in innumerable ways. Private interment has taken place.

My fondest and strongest memories of Karin Nap will always be as sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ. We started our pilgrim journey together in 1980, with Karin one step ahead of me leading me to the Cross, for which I am eternally grateful. In like faith and love we travelled together, sharing our faith for many years.
Karin manifested His love toward us through her gift of song and music and keen embrace of His Word. May she now Rest In Peace forever in the loving arms of her Saviour.
