Olga Wood Obituary

Olga Christine Wood June 12, 1946 - March 15, 2022 It is with profoundly sad but warm hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, companion, sister and friend, Olga Christine to all whose lives she touched. Olga passed in her sleep while in palliative care at Powell River General Hospital. She was in her 76th year. Olga was born in Fort Smith, NWT, to Peter and Alice Hansen, where she attended school and graduated, eventually marrying her husband "Woody" Wood, with whom she had two of her sons, Scott and Grant. After separating from Woody, Olga moved to the Lower Mainland and took a job as a legal secretary; she decided to leave the city and moved to Powell River, where she was employed as a secretary in the forest industry. There she met her second companion, Ray Hoffas, with whom she had her third son, Travis. After separating from Ray, Olga moved to the Harvey Apartments with Scott, Grant and Travis and dedicated her time to raising her family. There she met her companion and partner Neil Brant, with whom she shared a life together for 30 years. Olga was predeceased by her parents Alice and Peter, her brother Peter, her husband Woody and her companion Ray. She is survived by her sons Scott, Grant (Tami) and Travis, her granddaughters Aleagh (Scott) and Johanna (Grant), her best friend and partner Neil, his daughter Ebony Jane and son Clayton, her sisters June, Anne, Nancy, Evelyn and Debbie, and her brother Chris. Olga was an incredible artist and left a legacy of many paintings, drawings and writing. She brought sunshine and laughter to all who knew her. She will be dearly loved and missed by all. Happy trails, sweet angel. A celebration of life will be held in late spring.
