Amy Euler Obituary

EULER, Amy Joyce (nee Shepherd) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, Joyce, on Friday, March 06, 2015. Joyce was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on September 29, 1927 to Ivy Ann & William Harry and was the only sister growing up with Gordon, Donald & James. Joyce moved with her family to West Vancouver in 1947. Joyce enjoyed a varied career starting with secretarial work at a law firm in Saskatchewan, then the Star Phoenix in Saskatoon, once in BC she worked at the West Vancouver Land Assessor's Office, Vancouver Sun newspaper, and later at Wall & Redekop Real Estate. Joyce met the love of her life, Victor Nelson at Arthur Murray dance studio and they married on September 01, 1956. They moved to Richmond in 1958 where they raised their 2 daughters Candace and Marlita. Joyce was a beloved member of the Steveston United Church and was the wedding co-ordinator for numerous years. Joyce is survived by her husband, Vic, of 58 years, daughters, Candace (Jose) Marlita (Dan) their grandchildren April (Joel), Jennifer (Julius) Jasmine (Chris), Maranda, Harmony &, Destiny; great-grandchildren Samantha, Heidi, Josef, Sebastian, Jaxon and Kahlina; sister-in-law Ann Shepherd as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Our family wishes to express sincere thanks to the Richmond Cancer Clinic, Richmond Hospital, Community Nurse Caregivers and all the kind support and prayers during Joyce's final years and now to us in her passing. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday March 12, 2015 at Steveston United Church, 3720 Broadway Street, Richmond, BC with a reception following. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Joyce's name to the BC Cancer Society; Steveston United Church, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
