David TAKAHASHI Obituary

TAKAHASHI, David September 19, 1947 - September 5, 2022 David is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kei (Sakai), daughter, Suzanne (Jerome) Yang, son, Todd (Elina) and his grandchildren: Dominic, Gabriel, Joshua and Noah. He will be truly missed by his brother, Kenny (Peggy) and his dear sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law of the Sakai Family. Dave also leaves behind Shawna, Chad and numerous other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Koji and Mary and his younger sibling, Ricky. Dave was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Steveston, B.C. in 1950 at age 3. After graduating from UBC with a B.Com, M.A. Urban Renewal and LL.B., he practised law in Richmond, B.C. for many years. His passion was to travel the world with Kei. Among their global travels were the Seven Wonders of the World, the Galapagos Islands and Antarctica. David served on the Boards of Richmond Association of Children's Services, Touchstone Family Association, Rotary Club of Richmond, Kwantlen Polytechnic University and North Fraser Port Authority. Thank you to Dr. Nasreen Khalil and Marion Santos of The Lung Centre who supported Dave in his brave fight against pulmonary fibrosis. The Grewal family wish to extend their deepest sympathy, sincerest condolences and love to the Takahasi Family. We have known David since the late 1970´s and always found him to be a kind and wonderful person and a professional and truly exceptional lawyer. If it wasn´t for David´s immense contributions our construction company, would never of been able to achieve the success it has. We are respectfully forever grateful to David for his guidance and support.

We were very sorry to hear this news. David represented our family numerous times and it was always to sit down with him and have a meaningful chat about an interesting news topic or a travel story!
