Joan Croft Obituary
Joan Croft, 99, of Richmond, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at Minoru Residences.
Edith (Joan) Croft was born on January 13, 1926, in Bolton, Lancashire, England, to Charles Poole and Edith Callaghan.
After meeting him briefly in Alexandria, Egypt, during WWII, Joan later married Thomas Croft in England in 1947. Together, they had three children: Brian, Susan, and Thomas.
The family emigrated to Canada in 1956 and settled initially in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, near Montreal's Dorval Airport, where Thomas worked for Rolls-Royce Canada. Later, in 1962, the family moved to Richmond, British Columbia, where Thomas served as the Rolls-Royce representative at Canadian Pacific Airlines and Air Canada.
Joan was predeceased by her husband and her daughter, Susan. Joan is survived by her sons Brian (Sharon), Thomas (Theresa), son-in-law Allan, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Joan was a dedicated homemaker. She also worked in the post office inside Seafair Drugs and at Sears in Brighouse. Joan was artistic and creative at heart and, in her later years, dedicated herself to the creation of knitted clothes and artworks for charitable purposes.
Those who knew Joan will remember her glowing smile, her social grace, and her generous heart. At Joan's request, no funeral services are planned.
