Susan (Sue) Smith Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sue Smith on Dec 16th, in North Vancouver, while surrounded by her family and dearest friends.

Sue is survived by her mother Lynne Smith, stepfather Wayne Renwick, Smudge(her pug) and many personal friends and colleagues.

Sue was a long time career employee of Loblaw Co. Ltd. She was a strong, confident and fair leader and was respected by all of her coworkers. She will be remembered for her sharp intellect, compassion for others and outstanding sense of humor. Thanks to the Loblaw family for all their support and care given to Sue.

Sweet Sue was an avid sports enthusiast, loved theme parties, music and travelling. She had a keen sense of humor and a contagious laugh that was loved by all that knew her.

Lynne would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. P Hoskins, Dr. A Cheung and their support team. Also thanks to the nurses on the 5th floor at the BC Cancer Clinic for their kindness and caring treatment of her daughter throughout her illness.

Special thanks to her sisters Pam, Marjorie, Lisa, Debbie, Julie and Wendy who stayed by Sue's side for hours a day for several months to give her love, comfort and companionship so she would never feel alone during her final journey and the start of her new adventure.

In lieu of flowers donations to BC Cancer, in Sue's name, would be appreciated.

Sue decided that she did not want a memorial service but her friends are taking charge and planning a "Gathering of Memories' for Sue in Spring 2019.

Sue will be forever loved, missed and remembered by her family and friends.

Rest peacefully my darling daughter. Your loving spirit will live on in my heart forever. I love you and miss you. MOM.

So very sorry to hear this sad, tragic news. I went through highschool with Sue and hung out with her and her friends during many a lunch hour and maybe a party or two ;) I have great soccer memories of her and was scared when we played soccer in gym class as she would always kick my butt!
A very kind and positive person taken from us all too soon. My heart goes out to all her family and dear friends.

I was so very sad to read this news. I have many fond memories of Sue, from playing soccer together as young girls, to being in band together in high school as well as many other classes together. She was good at every sport and she was always kind, friendly and fun. I can still remember her fabulous laugh. Another life taken far too soon from a horrible disease. My condolences to her mom Lynne and all who knew and loved Sue. She surely will be missed and remembered.

Sue always had time to talk and laugh. She was so strong and such a friendly soul.
