Pearl Rinker Obituary

After the gift of life of 95 years of life, on October 14, 2021 Pearl Rinker (nee Stuart) passed away at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville, ON, following a brief illness. Born in Conon Bridge, Scotland, she came to the Dunnville area at the age of four, and spent most of her life in the Dunnville area. She was predeceased by her husband Ted in 1990. Pearl gave life, love, encouragement and a strong work ethic to her daughter Gail Harrington (Gary), Karen Mans, and son Tom (Marianne). Also surviving Pearl are grandchildren Todd (Debbie), Barb (Late Trent), Brenda (Rob), Mike (Nicole), Jim (Shannen), Elaine (Drew), Andrea (Brandon); Great grandchildren Brayden (Marissa), Bradley, Ted, Tom, James, Owen, Brynn, Reese, Garrett and Henry, and great- great granddaughter Amelia. In 1968 Pearl and Ted moved from their farm to their newly purchased Wilson Lake Cottages in Temagami District. Her bright mind resource-fulness, determination and quick sense of humour all came into play with this new year-round Northern lifestyle. Many Dunnville and area families will recall their time there, and Pearl enjoyed many happy memories of those years. In 2007, Pearl returned to Dunnville. Throughout her years Pearl made and kept in touch with relatives and friends, be they local or met while traveling- one of her great enjoyments. Pearl loved socializing with friends and family, playing cards, and especially baking for which she was known. Butter tarts or date squares anyone? Close to Pearl's heart was church. She was a member of St. Simon's Anglican Church in Temagami and St. Paul's Anglican Church in Dunnville. Altogether, Pearl's life was busy, full and well-lived. She will be missed, and loved forever. A private family service will be held at a later date. Pearl's family appreciated and thanks the kind and caring staff and doctors of the third floor at Haldimand War Memorial Hospital. Donations to the Dunnville Hospital and Health Care Foundation would be appreciated by Pearl's family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ballard Minor Funeral Home, 315 Broad Street East, Dunnville, Ontario.

April 29, 2024

We, Warren and Julie Wills and our sons, Darrin and

Ted and Pearl Rinker were the nicest couple you would ever want to meet. They also brought up
two great daughters and their youngest son,Tom.
In closing, l just want to say that our family's fond memories of Ted and Pearl Rinker at Wilson Lake Camp will be with us forever.
Respectfully Submitted, Warren and Julie Wills

I have fond memories of Pearl, growing up as a child just down the road. I spent a lot of time in the Rinker House and also at their dairy farm just across the road. She was a wonderful loving person. My condolences to the whole family on your loss.
