Barbara (nee Mamers) DESCHÊNES
1954 - 2023
Passed away peacefully, September 8, 2023, at the age of 69, at the Résidence Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Palliative Care center, living the last years with Alzheimer's disease. Barbara was cared for tirelessly at home by her loving husband Guy. Barb was comforted by family and her grandkids whose presence illuminated her final years.
Born April 6, 1954, to (late) Anna Ivarson and (late) Hans Mamers in Toronto. She will be dearly missed by her siblings Lem, Rolly, Ronny, (late) Gary, Lilian, Linda, Ingrid, Pater, Eric, and Ulla and their dearly loved significant others and children.
Barbara exemplified grace, style, and kindness throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her. She was the heart and soul of her home, nurturing her loved ones, especially her grandkids with boundless love and care, who she loved to the moon and back. Barbara was very active, she loved playing badminton, skiing and water-skiing. She loved to garden and to bake for all to enjoy.
Survived by her daughters Erica (David) and Michelle (Anthony), and grandchildren Alexa Ben, Charlotte and Philippa.
Family, friends, and colleagues are welcome to come celebrate her life and Guy's, with live music, food, drinks and cake on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Complexe funéraire HAUT-RICHELIEU, 86, chemin des Patriotes E., Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, J2X 5P9, 450-390-1111, complexehr.com.
