Beverley Anne (nee Batley) MACAULAY
1940 - 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Beverley MacAulay of Essex, Ontario, on February 3, 2026. Beverley was the eldest daughter of the late Peggy and Sterling Batley of Bury, Quebec. Loving wife of the late Donald MacAulay with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage. Treasured mother to Veronica (Wayne) Hannon, Norman (Stephanie), and Angela (Dean Corriveau) MacAulay. Cherished grandmother to Rachel (John), Adam (Olivia), Emily (Adam) and Sarah Hannon, Dalton and Kennedy (Dylan) MacAulay. Great-grandmother to Elijah and Everly Tatarnic. Dear sister of the late Bruce (Ilah) and the late Clyde Batley, Carol (Lawrence) Hodge and Susan (Chad Loveland) Batley. Beverley will be fondly remembered by her seven nieces, her nephew, and countless friends. Beverley devoted her life to caring for her family and friends. Her delicious recipes have been widely shared and will be family favourites for generations to come. She always led an active lifestyle and enjoyed playing hockey, swimming, waterskiing, alpine skiing, camping, gardening, walking and even taught fitness classes for the YWCA. She had a passion for travel, adventure and music and was a long-time member of the Essex County Bluegrass Association. She was described by everyone as "a very sweet lady." The family would like to thank the staff at Iler Lodge Retirement Residence in Essex for their care and for making Beverley feel at home. A very special thanks to Nicole and Anna from Bayshore and Theresa (Alzheimer's Society) for their love, care and support. Thank you to nurses Fu, Al, Cassie and Danielle, Dr. Beg and Dr. Shahzad on the surgical floor at Met Hospital. A private family service will take place to fulfill Beverley's wishes. Her final resting place will be in her beloved beginnings in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, reunited with her husband Don. Donations in her honour may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor or a special charity close to her heart, the Down Syndrome Association of Hamilton.
