David Carl HORAN
It is with heavy hearts that the family of David Carl Horan announce his passing on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the age of 68. David was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec to loving parents Brenda Philbrick-Horan and the late Carl Horan. He was predeceased by his dear Aunt Elaine.
He is survived by his two cherished sons Kelly and Kevin (Sarah); brother Keith (Melanie); nieces Ashley and Karleigh; and Judy (mother of Kelly and Kevin). He is also missed by aunts Deveda, Elva, Murdeena, as well as many other family members, friends, and co-workers.
David was brought up on a small dairy farm near Danville in the Eastern Townships of Quebec. He attended Richmond Regional High School and participated in sports such as soccer, track & field, and hockey, winning medals and trophies for his endeavors. David graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a degree in Physical Education. He was a dedicated teacher who was much appreciated by his students. A further diploma in photography from Dawson College in Montreal satisfied a lifelong passion for photography. David moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1980, and was employed by Canon Canada for over thirty-eight years. At the time of his death, he held the title of Regional Director - General & Environmental Affairs & Logistics.
A big thank you goes to the Unit 46 and 47 units at the Foothills Medical Centre and the Agape Hospice, who lovingly cared for David. Thank you also to Judy & Cheryl for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
David requested that no memorial service be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David's memory to the Agape Hospice in Calgary, or the Foothills Medical Centre.
