Dianne Kirby

1949 - 2018

"The Lord gives and the Lord takes away". On December 31, 1949, the Lord gave a daughter, Dianne Grace to Lloyd and Edith (Shaughnessy) Hyatt. Then on February 15, 2018, The Lord took Dianne to her eternal home after a long battle with cancer and dementia. Dianne passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Youville. Dianne will be remembered as a caring, loving person who spent many hours volunteering in the ­community. Dianne was a nurse at the old Sherbrooke Hospital. She worked in many different areas of the hospital at first but found her place on the geriatric floor, otherwise known as 4th floor. She delighted in her two daughters, Jennifer (Shaun) and Felicia (Brad). For the past 7 months, her delight has been her granddaughter Chloe. Dianne faced her illness with faith in her Lord and with courage. She always had hope. During her illness, her home and hospital rooms were ­regularly filled with family and friends. Besides the visits, she was daily ­encouraged with calls and cards. Both Dianne and the family were supported with prayer, which was their lifeline. She was loved very much and will be greatly missed by her husband Peter; daughters Jennifer (Shaun) and Felicia (Brad); ­granddaughter Chloe; stepgrandchildren Shayla, Josh, Cassandra, Brian, Ben and Makayla; mother Edith; sisters Audrey (Peter) and Shirley-Ann (Robert); in-laws, nieces and nephews; as well as her spiritual family at Green Ridge Baptist Church. 
Visitation will take place at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St., Sherbrooke (Lennoxville), on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the Green Ridge Baptist Church, Queen St., Sherbrooke (Lennoxville) from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.
