Geoffrey Norman Stewart BIRRELL
1947 – 2025
It is with deep love and sadness that we share the passing of Geoff Birrell, who left us peacefully at the age of 78, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Geoff shared 55 wonderful years with the love of his life, Carole. Together they worked hard to build a thriving farm, a beautiful family and a home filled with laughter, music, and love. Born to Jane and Norman Birrell, he was a proud father to Sandy (Rick), Ann (Sean), Emily (Jeff), and Joanna, grandfather to Alex, Lydia, Karley, Selene, Luke, Zoe, Caitlin, Emma, and Henry, and brother to Steven and Rodney (Alan).
Geoff was known for his quick wit, playful sense of humor, loving a good debate and being the last to leave a party. He enjoyed a cowboy life on the open land alongside his devoted border collies and horses. Deeply loyal and generous, he was a trusted advisor, great friend and always made time for people. His big bear hugs and huge smile touched everyone who knew him.
A celebration of Geoff's life will be held next summer, when family and friends can gather to share stories, laughter, and memories of a man who made life richer for all who knew him.
