George Corbiere Obituary
1927 - 2025
George passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025 surrounded by family, at the age of 98. Husband of the late Glenna Mae Buzzell.
Manoir Stanstead had been his home for the past five years. The residence was ideally located - just ten minutes from Dufferin Heights Golf Club - where he spent many joyful days. George truly felt at home at Manoir Stanstead, surrounded by both old and new friends.
A special thank you to Dr. Jean-François Belleau-Nantel for his many years of compassionate care for both Glenna and George. To the CLSC team who came almost daily - thank you. To the staff of Manoir Stanstead: George genuinely enjoyed his time with you. You were his extended family, your care made a meaningful difference in his life.
George will be missed by many relatives and dear friends.
Uncle George was the last of his generation in our families and will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
A funeral service will be held on July 26 at 11 a.m. at Christ Church, 550 Dufferin, Stanstead, QC, J0B 3E0. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at Cherry River Cemetery, Orford, Quebec.

I met George when we were both playing baseball in the Provincial League. He was a fierce competitor but also a true gentleman. I will miss our conversations about how bad or how good the Blue Jays are.

My sympathies to all of his family, he was a wonderful man. I had the pleasure of taking care of Mr. Corbiere as a patient at the Magog Hospital a few times years ago, was even gracious when ill.
