George GRUBB
1930 - 2025
George Lindsay Grubb, at the age of 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Santé Courville, Waterloo, in the loving embrace of his wife of 72 years, Carolyn, and their family.
Born on September 4, 1930, in Sweetsburg to Lindsay and Ethel (née Williams) Grubb, George spent his early years on the family farm in East Farnham. At 15, the family moved to Shefford, where he continued farming until his retirement at 83.
George met the love of his life, Carolyn (née Jewett), on a blind date and they married in June 1953. George worked as a fireman on the Canadian Pacific Railway for several years before returning to Shefford to manage the family dairy farm.
George spent his final days surrounded by love and family. In his last hours, his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were by his side. He left this world a rich man, not in wealth, but in the true measure of life's success: love given, love received, and a family bound together by his example. He will be deeply missed.
George is survived by his wife Carolyn and their eight children Wayne, Sharon (Mario), Jo-Ann (Jose), Diane (Bill), Warren, Wallace (Brigitte), Kathleen (Michael), and Allan (Amy). He had the joy of seven grandchildren Sarah (Tanner), Lisa (Shane), Emily, Christopher (Kassandra), Olivia (Gabriel), Luka, and Brayden; and five great-grandchildren Lilianna, Hayden, Léa, Louis and Jules. George was predeceased by his parents, his brother Everett and his sister Kathleen.
George's wife and family wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hakizayezu Emmanuel for his dedicated care, compassion and friendship. They also extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the entire staff at Santé Courville and Dr. Robert St. Onge of Clinique Médicale Waterloo for the exceptional care provided to George and the invaluable support given to the family. Their sincere thanks also go to the home care team from CLSC Yvan-Duquette for their steadfast support and tireless efforts on behalf of George, including Dr. Marie-Ève Dubuc, Marie-Eve Tremblay, Chantal Vallières, and Annie Sabourin.
A private service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Santé Courville or B.M.P. Fondation (https://fondationbmp.ca/en/home/).
