Gertrude Learned Obituary
(née Ord)
1927 - 2025
The family sadly announces the peaceful passing of our mother on April 24 at the Wales Home, in her 98th year.
She was the beloved wife of the late Douglas and mother of Janet (Donald McKelvie), Trudy (Paul Dresdner), Malcolm (Diane), Maxine (the late Denis), Susan (the late Serge), and Grant (Dorothy). She was ''Nana mama' to 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and recently one great-great-granddaughter.
Gertrude loved flowers, backyard birds, butterflies, scarves, nail polish and always that 'bit of lipstick.'
A special thank you to the wonderful caring staff on N3 for their kindness and compassion. They were always ready with a smile and a song.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Cass Funeral Home in Lennoxville.
A private graveside service in Cookshire will be held at a later date.

My sincere condolences to Mac and the entire Learned family. I fondly remember your Mom (Gert) and Doug visiting at our Lake Alymer cottage with the Beatties, Waldrons and Kennedy´s ; joking and story telling. The laughter that good time group enjoyed is unforgettable. They are all together again now.

My condolences to Gert's family!! Gert was a sweet charming lady with a sparkle in her eyes, especially when talk about dancing!!
I mentioned to her that at the Wales Home, she was the `1st person that I danced with!!
