Heather Westover Obituary

Heather Jean (nee McCaw) WESTOVER

Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the age of 82, at St. Joseph's Villa, Dundas, Ontario. Beloved wife of Larry for over 61 years. Loving mother of Teresa and Mark Wetselaar, and Todd and Maja Westover. Cherished grandmother of Darrah Wetselaar. Dear sister of Carol Shufelt (†Harris), Reena McBride (†Bert), and Cam McCaw (Sharon).
Heather began her career at Bell Canada as a stenographer and secretary, moving on to executive secretary positions at National Drug and Chemical Company, GAF Canada, and MDS Health Group.  She continued her career after receiving a degree in Interior Design and worked at Mueller's Interiors as an interior designer. Health care called her back repeatedly with work at Mississauga Hospital in the Mental Health Clinic, volunteer work at the Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital and finally working in the nursing department at Credit Valley Hospital.
She loved entertaining and cooking, always eager to try a new recipe. Heather and Larry shared many happy years camping, many enjoyable trips throughout Europe, and later enjoyed escaping the winters in sunny Florida. She was an avid reader who also loved a good crossword puzzle. Heather also spent many hours looking after her beloved dogs.
Heather received excellent care at St. Joseph Villa in Dundas, Ontario, and the family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph Villa.
Cremation has taken place. Heather will be laid to rest in Sutton, Quebec at a later date.
