Jack GARNEAU

It is with deep sadness that the family of Jack Garneau announce his passing on October 28, 2025, at the CHUS Fleurimont, Quebec, due to complications from an untreatable infection.
He was the son of Jack F. Garneau and Evelyn Smyth and husband of Lois Gilbert.
Jack leaves in mourning his cherished wife of 64 years, Lois; his much loved children Michael (Marina Jaago) and Suzanne (Luc Robert); his adored grandchildren James Garneau, Caleb and Josef Robert, his brother-in-law Gerald Gilbert (Gloria Raymond), their two children, Geoff Gilbert (Christine McLeod) and Joanne Gilbert Baird (Dan Baird); cousin Margaret Garneau and cousin-in-law Norma Bain ( Jim Richards); his nephew Peter Garneau (Mary Beth Lozinski) and niece Penny Garneau ( Bruce Fawcett).
He was predeceased by his brother Grant Garneau (Lois Flanders) and sister-in-law Mary Gilbert Borden (Keith Perrault).
Also left to mourn are his many other relatives and close friends and colleagues.
A private family funeral will be held soon, and a Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.
The Family would like to thank the staff at the CHUS Fleurimont for the wonderful support and excellent care that they provided during his hospitalization.
Jack will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a loving husband, outstanding father, grandfather and friend and an active community supporter and citizen.
