Mark James Obituary

Mark F. JAMES

Mark James passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 67, surrounded by his loved ones in a space filled with love, life, and laughter.
Born and raised in Lennoxville, Mark was one of several siblings guided by his mother, Emily. He studied Business at Bishop's University, where he also played defensive end for the Gaiters - a team he continued to support passionately throughout his life.
Mark went on to serve as a pilot in the Canadian Air Force and later with the Army Reserves in Nova Scotia. Dedicated to service and community, he also volunteered with the Bridgetown Fire Department and the Nova Scotia Guard. His sense of duty was evident to the very end, as he chose to donate organs and tissue so that others might live better lives.
Mark's proudest role, however, was within his family. He is survived by his wife Michelle; his children Megan, Thomas and Marah; and his granddaughter Isla. He also leaves behind his four siblings, many nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends and colleagues who will remember him with affection.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the team at QEII Hospital for their warmth, professionalism, and care during Mark's final days.
A celebration of Mark's life will take place next June in Dartmouth, NS. Details can be found on the Dartmouth Funeral Home website, where his full obituary notice is posted.

Although we are cousins, time and distance interfered with staying close knit, however one of my fondest memories occurred at our grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Following the family celebrations , Mark, Doug and I escaped to the student bar at John Abbott College. As we approached the line up, the boys hoisted me (5ft 5 in) up between their (6ft 3in) & ( 6ft 6in) shoulders hoping we'd somehow skip the line! We laughed, danced, chatted and had an overall great time.
Such a positive memory. To Mark's family , hold on to your memories as you navigate the path ahead. My thoughts are with you.
