Mary Elizabeth Winget Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Winget (nee Grimes) on July 23rd. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert (Herbie) Winget.
Elizabeth was very active in the farm community in Sherbrooke. She was also an avid bowler and enjoyed curling and golfing as well.
She is survived by a cousin, Virginia King (Kennett) and three nieces, Barbara Brooks (McNey), Cathy Rock (McNey) and Roberta Chisholm (Gaulin) and their families. She will be sadly missed by many lifelong friends in the community.
For the last six years she was a resident of Grace Village. The family wish to thank the staff for the excellent care she received. We also wish to thank caring friends who visited her frequently as family members lived so far away.
There will be no visitation, but a graveside service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
Donations to a charity of choice will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. Elizabeth & Herbie were good friends. We loved them. They loved Curling, golfing and their Florida home. Both Bunny & I worked for them but never seemed like work. After Bunny & Herbie passed away, I continued working for Liz until she went to Grace Christian Home. She was apart of our family aka gramma because of my family. Visits & calls many times until covid & my health problems. We still kept in touch. Always had hugs & said love you. Will miss you Elizabeth and may you b reunited with Herbie & say hi to Bunny. Thankyou Donna & Willie for being there for her. xo

Anyone who had the privilege of knowing Elizabeth, was truly blessed. I began visiting Elizabeth in 2018 and we instantly bonded. We talked on the phone 7 nights a week and I visited her weekly at Grace Village. We shared a deep friendship and never hung up without saying we loved each other. She had a sense of humour and though she liked to play "tough" on the exterior, she had a warm, compassionate heart. She never had a bad word to say about any individual I miss her terribly but pray she's resting in peace and no doubt, happy to finally see Herbie.
