Robert Baker Obituary

Robert Saxe BAKER
1955 – 2025

Robert Saxe Baker, BSc, B.Eng, P.Eng. "Buddy" died peacefully, with family by his side, on December 23, 2025, at the age of 70.
Buddy was the beloved son of the late Dr. Bruce Earle Baker and Saxe Claire Cornell. He is survived by his son Adam; his siblings Peter (Elizabeth), Susan (Tony), Philip (Francine) and Jeffrey (Robyn); his nieces and nephews Carrie, Alison, William, Robert, Matthew, Johnny, Genevieve, Hayden and Taylor; and many great-nieces and great-nephews here in Canada and in South Africa. He will be sorely missed by all of his family and his many, many friends.
In his younger days Buddy was a very big part of the Rugby Club in St Anne de Bellevue where he has been described as "a great leader and pillar of the club." Over the years he remained connected to the club through the many friends he made. Buddy will be remembered as a proud and loving father who was devoted to his family. He was known throughout the community for his kindness and his sharp and quirky sense of humour.
A private memorial service will be held at St James the Apostle Church, Stanbridge East at a later date.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the B.M.P. Hospital for the loving and tender care provided to Buddy during the last days of his life.
In his memory a donation to the B.M.P. Foundation would be appreciated by the family (https://fondationbmp.ca/en/home).
