Sydney Robert LESSARD
June 20, 1944 – January 22, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Sydney Robert Lessard, on January 22, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on June 20, 1944, in Bishopton, Quebec, Sydney carried his love for his hometown and the farm that shaped him in his heart throughout his life. He often longed to return to the land that meant so much to him.
Sydney was a devoted husband to Rosalie Falls Lessard of 48 years and a loving father to Darlene, Tina, Anthony, and Susan. His family was his pride and joy, and he spoke of them often with deep love and admiration. He was a wonderful father - steady, dependable, and always there when he was needed.
He was loved by his sister Hazel and her husband Cecil Coates, as well as their children Ricky, Connie, Carol, Danny, David and Joanne Coates.
Sydney was known for his strong work ethic, generosity, loyalty, and patience. Through years of hard work and experience, he passed down valuable knowledge - especially to his son Anthony - and leaves behind lessons and memories that his family will hold onto forever.
He will be greatly missed, but the love he gave and the memories shared will be cherished always.
A service to celebrate Sydney's life will be held on March 1 at 2 p.m. at 2775 rue Prospect, Sherbrooke. Everyone is welcome to attend and honour his memory.
