Agnes "Nancy" Oakes

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, Nancy (Agnes) Oakes passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the age of 89, just 33 days away from her 90th birthday. Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Mary Ann Couse (Larry), Margaret Elliot, Gail Ree (Steven); her grandchildren Ryan Couse (Shanna) with Donna-Mae (Ava), Zoee (Kailer), Renae and Alexia; Vincent Couse (Patricia) with Braden and Arianna; Jennifer Plume (Troy), Candace Caswell, Adam Bail (Jessica) with a little girl angel arriving soon and Ryan Bail; Aaron Ree (Hailey) with Nathan, Emma, Maddie and Carter Steven; Amanda Saunderson-Ree (Matt) with Morrison and Ella Jean and Daniel Ree. Nancy was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Vern Oakes; brothers Jim and Louie Sampson; and her parents Louie and Mary Sampson. Nancy will also be dearly missed by her friends at the Victoria Harbour Legion. Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Nicholls Funeral Home, Midland, ON. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in name of Agnes "Nancy" Oakes to the Hospice Simcoe Centre, 336 Penetanguishene Road, Barrie, ON L4M 7C2.
