CURRIE, Alexander Passed away peacefully at the Sara Vista Nursing Home on Sunday, June 25, 2017. Alex Currie of Elmvale in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Marian McClung. Dear father of Donald (Jean) Currie and their children Lindsay and Taylor, Glenn Currie and his children Ben and Gwyneth, Heidi (Russell) McElwain and their children Kyle and Will, and step-father of Mike (Maria) Bertram and their children Mikey, Tyler, and A.J. Predeceased by his sisters, Elizabeth Long, and Florence Turner. Alex grew up farming on the 6th concession of Flos Township. He then went on to become a well known local business owner and active community member. He was a Former Flos/Elmvale Deputy Fire Chief, Elmvale Council Member, Lions Club member, Mason and Shriner. Visitation was held at the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home in Elmvale from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27 and from 12 noon - 1 p.m. at the Elmvale Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, June 28 until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Reception followed at the Elmvale Legion.
